Congratulations! You have stumbled upon one of the most powerful ACT test prep tools on the market.
Because the ACT is so predictable, taking and analyzing official ACT tests is key to success on test day. Therefore, we strongly recommend that students study with either version of The Real ACT Prep Guide, the book published by the ACT company. This is the only book on the market with real ACTs. However, this book has several shortcomings.
-The Real Guide doesn't give you a "big picture" view of the skills you need to improve.
-Even if you realize what skills you need to improve, the Real ACT Prep Guide doesn't review any skills tested on the ACT.
-The Real ACT Prep Guide doesn't offer practice problems.
-The Real ACT Prep Guide doesn't offer "sneaky" strategies. After all, this would be a conflict of interest for them.

Summary: Wonderful program and wonderful service! Highly recommended.
Comment: I cannot say enough good things about "Boost Your Score" and the wonderful service and help provided by Advantage Point (specifically Devorah). I purchased this program shortly after my son received a disappointing "25" on his ACT taken this past spring (his junior year). He read through a couple of other resource books, but then worked diligently (did exactly what "Boost Your Score" told him to do) for about 4 weeks. He took all of the practice tests that the program provides and used all of the resources they also provide. His score came back last week after he retook the test in June. He scored a 33! I give all of the credit to Advantage Point and Boost Your Score. (I think my son probably deserves some credit because it does take some determination and hard work to make yourself go through the exams, resources, etc.) I will use this program again for our younger 2 children.
As far as the comment posted recently from the person who said they wish they would have known they needed to have Excel on their computer~ I made the same mistake since we don't have Excel. I went back and looked at the product description and it indicated that you must have Excel. However, I contacted (through email) Advantage Point and Devorah emailed me back almost immediately with a trial Microsoft Office site and we were able to download the trial Excel through that. It's a month free trial and my son completed his study using the program and took his test almost exactly a month after purchasing Boost Your Score! Devorah at Advantage Point got back with me so quickly when I emailed her with questions. I have never written a review for a product before, but could not let this opportunity go by to recommend without any hesitation something that worked so well for us. Good luck on the ACT and USE THIS PROGRAM EXACTLY AS IT INTENDED AND I WOULD BET YOUR SCORE WILL DEFINITELY BE BOOSTED!!

Summary: Perfect for serious test-preppers. Not the prettiest program, but it really does work.
Comment: I studied for the ACT for over a year and found that Boost Your Score was the most helpful of all the products I used. I really feel like this software is pretty much fail-proof. How could your score not improve if you pick apart your performance on real ACTs, improve the weak skills, take more real ACTs, and then do it all over again? This software really takes a comprehensive look at your strengths and weaknesses. They have complete review worksheets of their own for every sub-section of the test and then bonus links to internet resources for more practice. They also have a great calculator program worksheet that shows you how to program lots of math programs into your calculator by hand, which I had never even heard of before. Those programs saved me a lot of time on the math section. On the last ACT I took, I probably used the calculator programs (for Pythagorean theorem, distance formula, quadratic formula, etc.) about 10 times in total. Anyone who has had to do the quadratic formula by hand will realize how much time that saved me on the math section.
One word of warning, however--this software is useful, but not exactly pretty. I have seen some test prep software with a fancy "roadmap", background music, talking people, a laugh track, etc. (Well, just kidding about the laugh track, but you get what I mean). As another reviewer mentioned, this software is basically a souped-up Excel application. VERY no-nonsense. If you are a student who feels like you want straight-to-the-point, intense preparation based on official ACT tests, this program is perfect. If you do better with more entertainment or pizzazz, this software may be too dry for you.

Summary: PLEASE READ - Total Garbage
Comment: First of all, I don't know why my previous review was deleted. I don't want anyone wasting their money on this junk. I always score 32+ on the ACT exam, and with this software I thought I could improve. This software is total junk. The software itself is a microsoft Excel document, and the "resources" on the CD go to free websites like Sparknotes. I mean, when they claim to include calculator programs and such, I didn't know that they would point me to the TI Calculator website...plus, when I input answers, it CHANGES the answers. I swear, for one test I went back and checked if I put in G for #14 and I did, and when I saw my results it was changed to H...I mean, seriously??? The software is totally ridiculous. I want my money back.

Summary: Worth it just for the calculator programs
Comment: This program is simple, but it works. The strategies in this program helped me raise my composite score from a 23 to a 29. This product also has a section on calculator programs, with easy instructions on how to program them into your calculator by hand. In my opinion, this software is worth it just for these programs. I saved a ton of time using them to calculate the distance formula, Pythagorean theorem, solve simultaneous equations, etc. for me on the ACT. I haven't seen those programs anywhere else.
